Many do not believe in magic, however, magic does actually exist, it is extremely dangerous, harmful and could seriously affect some one's life. It could affect the person's mind, brain, body, relationships, attitudes, work, money, marriage, career and everything in life. [1]
I'm not only talking about the magic you see in theaters, TV or over the Internet, where magicians trick their audience with illusions, I'm also talking about the spell or the work done to affect person's life and perhaps destroy it.
Defining Magic:
"Magic is the negative use of energies and power by jealous and malicious human beings, whose main objective is to harm or deprive others from something, or influence them to do something wrong or negative". [2]
Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all believe in Magic. It is mentioned in the Torah, Gospel and the Holy Qur'an,
Here are some verses:
Torah:
1. "You shall not allow a sorceress to live" [Shemot 22:17]
2. "There shall not be found among you anyone who passes his son or daughter through fire, a soothsayer, a diviner of [auspicious] times, one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer," [Devarim 18:10]
Gospel:
"Keep on, then, with your magic spells and with your many sorceries, which you have labored at since childhood. Perhaps you will succeed, perhaps you will cause terror. [Isaiah 47:12]
Qur'an:
"They followed what the Shayatin (devils) gave out (falsely of the magic) in the lifetime of Sulaiman (Solomon). Sulaiman did not disbelieve, but the Shayatin (devils) disbelieved, teaching men magic and such things that came down at Babylon to the two angels, Harut and Marut. Nor did they (the two angels) teach it to anyone till they had said: We are only a temptation, therefore disbelieve not (in the guidance of Allah)." [Al-Baqara 2:102]
Magic has been used for thousands of years, it was used in different forms and different purposes. Today, some believe that Jews are using it to take control over the world, they think that Prophet Solomon had this great sovereignty from the use of Magic, therefore, they're using magic in everything and everywhere. The Hollywood industry for instance, is about the corporate elite's playground in implanting their agenda into people's mind to gear them into a certain direction, (Hollywood is named after the holy wood witches used). It is a place where movies are created to cast of spell on the population in order to change the cultural norms in our society, it's as simple as that. [3]
I was watching a Hollywood movie the other day "Maid in Manhattan", where Jennifer Lopez plays a maid role that is in a rush, raising her son all by her own, living far away from work and doesn't own enough money to buy a car, she rushes every morning to prepare her kid for school, takes him there, then rushes to her work, drinking and eating her breakfast while she's running down the stairs. This scene made me think, who created this system? Where you need to keep paying for living, and there's no time for anything, not even time to think, a system that just keeps you running and running without achieving anything but survivance.
Only about 200 years ago, people always lived in a peaceful environment, ate healthy food, lived under a clean climate, worked a little and gained a lot, and had nothing to worry about, such as paying bills, taxes, rents, loans, or having the latest cell phone, or riding a Mercedes Benz, or furnishing their houses with modern furniture, having to worry about what other people say. This whole system was created for certain purposes, and now that we're in it, it's really difficult to get out of it, and whoever is not involved in this system is dying from poverty. Aren't we influenced by what we watch?
However, magic is not confined to what Hollywood has to cast, magic goes way beyond that.
There are different types of Magic that can be used for various reasons, such as separating a married couple as mentioned in the Qur'an: "...people learn that by which they cause division between man and wife;..." [Al-Baqara: 2:102]
Types of Magic:
Illusions:
"He (Moses) said: Throw! And when they threw they cast a spell upon the people's eyes, and overawed them, and produced a mighty spell." [Qur'an - Al-Araf 7:116]
Knots:
"Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the Daybreak (1) From the evil of that which He created; (2) From the evil of the darkness when it is intense, (3) And from the evil of those who blow on knots, (4) And from the evil of the envier when he envieth. (5)" [Qur'an - Al-Falaq 1-5]
With this kind of magic, you use a rope, cord, string, piece of yarn, ribbon...etc. to signify the desire. By tying knots in the cord, you declare your desires. You may also tie things into each knot if you need to represent something else. I have seen people tie feathers, hair, pieces of paper...etc. into each knot they tie. There is a spell in the Grimoire that uses Cord Magic, which is the same thing. [4]
Talismans & Amulets:
These are magically "charged" items and are representational of whatever magic is being done. Talismans and Amulets are usually worn or carried on the person for protection, love, luck, or for whatever purpose is necessary. This is also a type of symbolic magic. There are many things that can be utilized for this purpose. Many use pendants, rings, an item carried inside a pouch or "mojo",etc, to make an amulet or talisman. [5]

As far as I'm concerened, science could not explain how magic works exactly, but this is a close explanation on how it works:
Magic, as I quoted earlier, is the negative use of energy around us to cause harm, and by that I mean that a magician could make a spell that affects on a certain individual, there's a connection between the spell and that person that keeps the magic working, this connection is either energetic or it's done by a Jinn (The Jinn are created from smokeless fire, "And We created the Jinn before that from the smokeless flame of fire" [Qur'an Al-Hijr 15:27]. Although they are invisible to human eyes, the Jinn can see us).

"Magic was worked on the Prophet so that he began to fancy that he was doing a thing which he was not actually doing..." Hadith 4:490. [6]

Perhaps this kind of magic affects the human brain, in Prophet Muhammad's case, it probably affected his occipital lobe (The region in the brain mainly responsible for visual reception).
I believe that deeper researches need to be done in order to understand what is actually happening while magice is performed on someone.
